Our journey reflects a commitment to innovation, strategic execution, and delivering measurable value to global clients. This is the story of our success.
GET IT was founded by Prof. Dr. Ing. Manfred Esser , who brought over two decades of experience in large corporate environments. Having spent 20 years navigating the complexities of traditional organizational hierarchies, he identified systemic challenges in managing large-scale projects. It reached a point where he was telling himself daily, "make project management great".
With 45 former colleagues from Siemens joining him, the team secured its first major project: software development for SAP’s headquarters in Walldorf, Germany. This success established GET IT as a capable partner for enterprise-level software engineering and set the stage for future innovations.
Founding and Early Momentum
GET Information Technology Group remains dedicated to advancing project management through industry-specific solutions. Our mission is to empower organizations to achieve excellence in every stage of their transformation journeys.
Continuous Corporate Performance Management
The framework was introduced to help medium-sized and large companies to optimize their performance by concentrating on company-wide improvement initiatives: from single initiative lifecycle management through quality gates and planning to realization and P&L impact tracking.
By 2002, GET IT established its software development center, leveraging expertise from its SAP project to design industry-specific solutions. In 2003, the company launched GET Caesar , an enterprise platform for project and portfolio management. Subsequent tools, including Projects RADAR (2004) for project tracking and GET Corporate Skill (2006) for workforce optimization, further expanded its portfolio.
The second generation of GET Caesar (2009) introduced modern architecture and advanced technologies, enabling scalable solutions. In 2010, GET PMO debuted as a comprehensive tool for enterprise project governance. By 2013, GET Excellence emerged as a specialized framework for large-scale business transformations, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and post-merger integration.
In collaboration with Bundesgesellschaft für Endlagerung mbH (BGE) , we launched "Nuclear Waste Logistics" , a digital system replacing paper-based processes for radioactive waste control. This initiative exemplifies our focus on leveraging technology to solve complex industry challenges.
Driving Digital Transformation
GET Innovation (2016) supported Stage-Gate product development and quality assurance, while Q-Portal Industry (2018) and Q-Portal Renewables (2019) addressed quality assurance and supply chain transparency in construction and renewable energy projects.
A key milestone came in 2020 with the launch of Q-Portal GmbH , a joint venture with RWE Nuclear. This venture introduced Q-Portal Nuclear , a platform for managing nuclear waste processing and decommissioning, setting new standards for safety and compliance in the industry.
